Disability Benefit Specialist Program

If you are age 18-59 with: a physical disability, developmental disability, mental illness, are blind/low vision, are deaf/hard of hearing or have a substance use disorder, you are eligible for the Disability Benefit Specialist Program.


  • Veterans’ Benefits Help to determine which benefits, programs and services you may be entitled to or that best meet your needs

  • Help with applications for benefits, programs and services

  • Low-Income Tax Credits

  • Assistance in obtaining or retaining benefits and services

  • In some cases, you may receive representation in formal appeals related to denials of eligibility, termination of benefits or overpayment of public and private benefits

  • Provide referrals, assistance and support on other matters including disability issues and rights

Provide accurate information on public and private benefits, including:


  • Social Security Disability Income (SSDI)

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • Low-Income Tax Credits

  • Medicaid (Medical Assistance)

  • FoodShare

  • Medicare, including Part D

  • Prescription Drug Assistance

  • Housing and Utility Issues

  • Private Health and Disability Insurance Issues


Elder Benefit Specialist Program

If you are 60 years of age or older and you are having a problem securing a public or private benefit, you are eligible for the Elder Benefit Specialist Program.


  • Benefit checkup, find out if you are eligible for any benefits

  • Social Security, SSI

  • Medicare Parts A, B, C & D

  • Insurance – Supplements, Long-Term Care

  • Financial problems, budgeting

  • Housing (subsidized, landlord/tenant issues)

  • Property taxes

  • Medication

  • Reverse Mortgage

  • FoodShare

  • Medicaid (Title 19)/Family Care
