Adult Day Centers

Adult Day Centers are used to relieve the caregiver of his or her responsibilities for the day while ensuring that their loved one will still receive proper care in a safe and friendly environment. Adult Day Centers usually operate during normal business hours five days a week.

Usually, there are three main types of Adult Day Centers: those that focus primarily on social interaction, those that provide medical care, and those dedicated to Alzheimer’s care.

Adult Day Centers can improve one's overall behavior and provide the caregiver with much-needed time off.

Programs that offer extensive care or additional specialized services often cost a bit more. An Adult Day Center is usually far less expensive than hiring a home health nurse or moving a loved one to a nursing facility. Medicare doesn’t cover any of the costs associated with an Adult Day Center. Sometimes, long term care insurance may cover the costs of an Adult Day Center if medical personnel are involved.
